A rare Parthian Gold & Carnelian Pectoral, ca. 1st - 3rd century CE 48517954_xl simple to usethe pectoral of rounded form with large cabochon carnelian centrally set within a high carat gold bezel edged with a rope border and with thirteen raised bosses all with rope borders, two suspension loops on the reverse. A similar example, set as a pendant can be found in the British Museum, the form of the pectoral and the method of inlaying are characteristic of Parthian jewellery with such objects usually dating between the 1st and 3rd centuries.
