General Service Medal Oman RAF Collection The award of the AfghanistanThe Oman General Service Medal (Midal al Khidmat al Alamat): instituted by Sultan Said bin Taimur in 1959, as a reward for general military service. This issue was originally intended to serve as a multi purpose Omani GSM_for service of at least six weeks, the medal has to date only been awarded with one clasp, for the Dhofar Rebellion. Th ribbon has equal bands of red, off white, and green_representing_the three regiments of the Omani army: the
