Grasshopper leaf peeper This wheel thrown earthenware mugWe had an unusually warm fall here in northern Vermont, and that gave me a few extra weeks of sitting in my backyard, watching the grasshoppers. I followed this red legged grasshopper (Melanoplus femurrubrum) as it climbed the vines and leaves till it rested on this dying aster, soaking in the last of the sun for the day.
