When using the Shift 5 ability, which allows the six-cost card to be played one turn early if a cheaper Merlin can be commandeered for the cause, Merlin gets to make use of another feature called Overdeveloped Brain

It's odd that augment cards are creatures that you can't play by themselves and that don't have a mana cost (although it's nice how those two things go together), but that's an impressively small price to pay for the ability to combine any augment with any host to create something unique and exciting

The only other such card not in Unglued or Unhinged, or Unstable (Magic: The Gathering), or any other joke set was Falling Star, from Legends
