It has fixed straight cheekpieces with two curb rein slots in each

The tin is in  good condition but there is a little rubbing around its lower corners

Early 20th Century Steel Pelham Horse Bit by Distas Ltd - Bit818 17th The case is rubbed onThis pelham was hand forged in steel, with an aged dark colourThe mouthpiece has a low port. The cheeks can turn. One is stamped "Distas". Distas Limited were recorded in the early 1930's as "Manufacturers and Merchants of Polo, Hunting and Racing Requisites" at Mappin House, 156 162 Oxford Street, London W1. There are rings for curb reins on the lower parts of the cheeks. The bit has its original curb hooks and a later nickel curb chain. Dimensions :
