Description

The film is the story of the Sand Creek massacre of 1864 when the US cavalry committed atrocities to the Cheyenne including the women and children

Classic lines from the film are often quoted still today and the poster design is superb

The idea of the artwork for the poster duplicating the real life newspaper advert from Gerald Kingsland inviting applications for a woman to join him on a desert island is a good one

John Badham directs

The Quick and the Dead / The 5th Battalion bi plane The film is the storyPrinted by the Electric (Modern) Printing Co. Ltd. of Manchester 8. comes this highly coloured Second World War double bill film poster in the 1960's. "The Quick and the Dead" was coupled with "The 5th Battalion" which told the fight against the Germans and the Gestapo. The corner tips are missing and there is a little paper loss in the top centre border as seen with two small closed tears and some old historic tape marks.
