It is shaped like a traditional antler or staghorn handle but has an axe blade on its rear edge. There is a steel gatepusher stud on the top of the handle. It has two silver collars stamped "Callow" and hallmarked London 1894 several of the marks are rubbed and difficult to read. There are a couple of very small dents in the collars.
