Early 19th Century Silk Blind for a Carriage Window print John Jorrocks / with sixteenThis blind for a carriage window is probably French and dates from the first quarter of the 19th Century. The fabric is dark green watered silk with a pale stripe down each edge and a matching green fringe. Its roller is housed in a rectangular wooden box veneered in golden brown kingwood. The box has gilded decorative mounts on each end and gilt brass decoration on all edges. The lower part of the blind holds a rod with gilt acorn finials. It is in
