Born John Heath Ball on January 25, 1907, Doc was a key guy in two very important areas: Firstly, he, along with Adie Bayer, organized and lead surfings first great surf club, the Palos Verdes Surfing Club (PVSC), a group whose legacy is still felt today. Secondly and as importantly, Doc became
