Pair of Decorated Dress Spurs by Maxwell of Piccadilly - Spur507 bridle There is a silver buttonThe spurs are made of silver plated brass with steel inserts which would fit into "boxes" in the heel of the boot. The arms and straight necks of the spurs are embossed with roses, thistles and shamrocks. The rose shaped rowels are similarly decorated. Each neck is stamped "Maxwell" (a famous London boot & spurmaker). The steel parts of the spurs are also stamped with Maxwell's late nineteenth century address , 185, Piccadilly, London.
