This striking image uses bold colours against a dark background, with a heavily textured mid ground. Elements of the picture use iridescent paints when they catch the light they shimmer. Inspired by ribbon and moray eels commonly found on rocky shores, its hypnotic movements resemble a twirling ribbon. Their long nostrils, shaped like leaves, detect vibrations in the water.
